MySQL Workbench 5.1.12 Beta3 Available

After a turbulent week, where a few of our team were presenting workbench at this years MySQL Users Conference, we have finally uploaded the next beta packages for you to try. We’ve further improved the handling of the application. The problem with the missing table editor in the mac package is fixed in this release as well.

Please grab the package of your choice at our download page and give it a try.

Ok thanks, but I was expecting the schema name in the left column and the database name in the right column, not a “Not available” message.
I can not understand what is the meaning of this “N/A”. Is there an error on my schema? An incorrect setting? Something wrong in the database?

Well, you should look if this is a regression bug. Do previous versions show this behaviour also on your particular scheme?

I had a similar problem here http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=39256. Workbench didn’t properly handle table renames.

You could look at the output of Generate SQL ALTER, there you might find what wb is actually thinking.

  3. Its also great that there is an x86_64 rpm but it has the same problem that I had when building from source that you can’t export the SQL in this version, its greyed out. Also no i386 rpm anymore which this feature was enabled.

  4. I’m a Ubuntu Linux 9.04 64bit user and have upgraded my MySQL workbench from 5.1.10 version to 5.1.12 through the repository for Ubuntu mentioned in this web site before. Since then I can’t use MySQL workbench. It just freezes with the splash screen when starting.

I did not tried this feature on previous versions :-(.
However as suggested, I created a SQL CREATE script and then a SQL ALTER script.
I’ve seen that in the alter script all the primary key were first dropped and then created again, and also all the fields of type TINYINT(1) (that is boolean fields) were altered, even if in the schema no change was done.

  6. myehorov,
These are what I got when I ran workbench from command line.

It’s very weird. What I can see from the Ubuntu synaptic package manager is MySQL Workbench 5.1.12-1 yet when I run it, the splash screen shows version 5.2.0.
    Anyway, still the same symptom.

  7. I need to build the databse with mySQL on my website, how exactly can I work with this work bench for MySql. Any place in the workbench where I can write the php, html javascript, everything all in one documnet. Does this workbench only have a prompt

  8. I installed this version, and something isnt working alright (im using it in Windows vista).

I create insert statements for the tables but when i export the script it doesnt create all the insert’s, i checked if all the inserts were there, and they were, but it only creates a few…. anything im missing here??? what’s the problem? this is kinda random….

  9. I also installed version 5.1.12 for Ubuntu 64bit it works fine until, sometimes when I try to save it simply closes, but saves the work. Hope next version gets better.:)
