  2. Great news.
    Anyway in the download page
    http://www.mysql.com/downloads/workbench
I can only download the older 5.2.43 version…

  3. mysql.com is still offering 5.2.43 for OS X

Which, by the way, is a great release – thanks for all the improvements, especially in the Stored Procs editor. (Now we just need that ‘New Stored Function’ button to save me having to replace gthe default proc template when writing functions and I’ll be an even happier bunny!)

  5. I’m only seeing 5.2.43 available for download. When should we expect to see the .44 release?

  6. The download page still has 5.2.43, I haven’t seen 5.2.44

  7. How come each new Workbench version seems to introduce even more annoying bugs ?

Although there were always some bugs, it was pretty stable and somewhat usable some time in the past before you started rewriting everything under the hood. What is this ? Oracle trying to push its own database offers not sold under the MySQL brand ?

One of the most annoying things in this version is that it adds phantom VARCHAR columns “[table-name]col” whenever you switch to the “Columns” tab when no column is selected.

I tried to do report some bugs but even that failed without any apparent errors, just sending me back to the bug report form with all my entered text cleared. What the heck ? It used to work some time in the past as well…

  8. Does the SSL function for SQL Development Connections work? In the docs I see under “6.6.2. Standard TCP/IP Connection” it says “Use SSL if available: This option turns on SSL encryption. The client library must support this option. Note: This feature is currently not supported.” Maybe the docs just aren’t updated?

I would like to use SSL to connect remotely to MySQL for querying. When I try, I receive the error “SSL connection error: ASN: bad other signature confirmation.”

I don’t see any docs for this, or bugs, so I’m not sure what’s up. I created my certificates using the instructions here – http://www.chriscalender.com/?p=448
and put in ca-cert.pem for SSL CA File, client-cert.pem for SSL CERT File, client-key.pem for SSL Key File. Not sure what’s wrong. This is the best place to ask as far as I can see.

    Thanks!
