Wow! Very impressive, I really like the new look.
Is there a pagination option that I am missing in the SQL editor? I see that it fetches the first 1000 records, is there a way to step through 1000 records at a time, like pages? Or are my options just view first 1000 records, or view all?
Keep up the good work!

Hello,
Workbench is looking better every release, however It still does not see my local vista64 5.5.2 server:> The connection works, but the server admin is not !!
Dit any one manage? If so how?
Second issue is that if you just want to change a table or do a query I prefer to do sothe old gui-tools. Simple but effective.
So, I like the workbench, but only for the complex things and regret that the old tools are not maintained any longer!
Sincerely,
Louis
Two remarks:
- this despite editing the Windows_(MySQL_5.0_x64_Installer_Package).xml to make it point to the right directory
- use the previeus version of the gui administrator (1.2.16) if you need to restore data ona per table base!

RFE: I want to be able to duplicate a diagram model. For example, when I right-click on its icon in the Model Overview, I want to be able to pick “make a copy” from the context menu.

hi there! this is definitely more stable than the last few betas on mac os x snow leopard, but there probably could be some kinks to work out. also, the “place sidebar on the right side” preference no longer works in this version. pls fix! thx.

Great Work! But there is one feature I’m still missing. You’re able to “Copy Row Content” in the SQL Editor but you can’t Paste Row Content.
Would be nice if a feature like this gets implemented.
Nevertheless great release and great tool

Congratulations for new successful release of MySql Workbench. I am very excited and happy to use it. Looks damn sexy and professional.
Thanks team.
Happy Querying!!

I’m sticking with 5.2.16. When I “click to edit”, the field doesn’t show entered text after I enter it, its just blank. The side bar being on the left why the button on the right also makes no sense but I can’t seem to change it (if its even possible). I am also not really a fan on the new look. The old one seemed much more clean and stable.

Looking great. Things are getting better! There are still a few updates/additions required I think for SQL Development to move me away from phpMyAdmin.
I’m not sure if its just me but here are a few things I’d like to see:
1) Remove need to specify database when you’re looking at it already. There are many times I go to copy + paste SQL queries and I have to manually add the DB name to each table despite already looking at it. Setting the default DB on the connection seems to be the only way around this and many times I’m working with mulitple DBs. (Perhaps I need to start specifying which DB in all my queries but it’s extra syntax that isn’t needed)
2) Add ability to select rows (checkboxes?) and do what you want with those rows like update, delete, export. (like phpMyAdmin)
3) Perhaps a more detailed Database overview of the tables?
Just a few things but I doubt anyone will read this
The error message added to the bottom of Output is a great addition I think

Also to add to the other stuff… Icons for each of the tabs.

Hi!
Checking for updates from version http://wb.mysql.com/workbench/version-check.php?config=OSS&version=5.2.16&revision=5249 does not tell the truth – It claims no update is available.
Ke pasa?

The feature to quickly search within a query response is very handy! UX suggestion: give it a handy one-click button to clear the input field.
By Jack Tanner on Apr 13, 2010
It would be interesting to show column types and icons for primary/foreign keys on Object Explorer.
By Matheus on Apr 13, 2010
Hi Maxim,
this page refers to GA versions of Workbench. we’d probably just disable the menu-item in 5.2 until its GA. thanks for the hint.

Very Nice post, quiet informative.
Database designing problems being the buzzwords these days, one of the most common designing mistakes is the “Poor Planning / Architecture” of the database or mart. Follow the link to know more…
